In order for the paint to adhere well to the surface when painting, you need the right tool. The paint is applied with a brush, roller or spray gun, aerosol can.
Paint brushes are made from hair, bristles or synthetics. Before work, a new brush should be lathered and soaked in water so that the hair swells and becomes soft. To increase the life of the brush, it is good to treat the bristles with linseed oil.
Small round brushes with a short handle are called handbrakes. They are good for painting complex shapes, such as fences, radiators, window sashes. Brushes up to 10 cm wide, which have a long handle, are called flat brushes, they are used for painting a wide variety of surfaces. Brushes with a long handle and a bristle width of up to 3 cm are called panel brushes, for pulling panels.
So that the long bristles on the brush do not interfere with work, it can be shortened by tying it with hemp twine. It is necessary to tie from a metal ring, reducing the tension of the twine with each turn.
To paint surfaces of a large area, different rollers are used. In this case, a special bath is used, into which paint is poured, a roller is dipped into it and paint is applied to the wall or ceiling.
To clean the surface before the staining process from old paint, putty, glue and lime composition, a spatula and a scraper are used. The spatula is a triangular elastic steel sheet with a wooden handle. Scraper – a steel strip with a curved, pointed blade.
At a construction site in a large room, spray guns and spray guns are used. At home, it is more convenient to use paint in an aerosol can. Before painting, the spray can be thoroughly shaken to mix the paint.
It is advisable to apply the first portion of spray paint to a piece of plywood, and then to the painted surface. Spraying the paint is necessary at a distance of about 25 cm from the surface and a quick movement of the hand. The aerosol spray can categorically cannot be disassembled and open with it near the open fire, since it has a lot of explosive and fire hazardous substances.
