After the balcony or loggia is glazed, it’s so nice to think about how the extra square meters will be used. But this is not the main thing, it is also worth carefully choosing materials for surface cladding, because its coziness and comfort will depend on the appearance of the room.

One of the economical, but practical finishing options is lining. You can sheathe a balcony with a clapboard with your own hands with a material that has class A. The highest variety of wood guarantees the absence of cracks and further cracking. Wood not only creates a healthy microclimate, but also has good sound insulation properties, as well as the ability to regulate humidity levels.

PVC panels – a kind of lining. They are moisture resistant, do not fade under the influence of ultraviolet radiation, well align the walls. Plastic is presented in a wide range of shades and colors, it is simple and easy to use.

If you wondered how to sheathe a balcony with a clapboard with your own hands photo, you saw various options on numerous Internet sites, then start by measuring the balcony. Calculate the required amount of material and purchase it with a small margin. The cladding process is simple and you will finish the work in a short time. The lining is mounted on a frame made of timber, mounted on screws or dowels. Mount the lining with clips. Do not forget that the slats should not be adjacent to the ceiling or floor. Net the bar with nails, and fasten its other side on the bar, having previously placed the clip in the recess and fixed it with a paper clip.

Close the connection of the finishing strip with a portico, lay out the perimeter of windows and doors with a paper profile. And cover the joints on the ceiling and on the floor with a plinth.

How to decorate a balcony with your own hands using other materials.

If you prefer a laconic style without frills, use moisture-resistant plasterboard panels.

“Dry” installation of the material will allow not to use mixtures and solutions for work that need to be mixed with water.

Then lay textured or facade plaster on a flat surface or just paint.

The most budgetary way of registration is pasting the walls of the balcony with wallpaper. Choose not very heavy types that do not fade in the sun. It is important that the walls are even, so use this method in combination with drywall.

If you decide to finish the balcony with siding, first mount the frame from a wooden beam or a metal profile. Place insulating material and waterproofing film inside the frame.

You can cut the siding with a hacksaw, which has fine teeth, a grinder or metal shears.

Fix the material with screws with wide caps. Install the launch panel, insert the next plank into it with the lower edge, and fix the upper edge with screws to the frame. Plastic siding is suitable for interior decoration, metal siding for exterior.

Facing stone, both artificial and natural, will create a unique interior, an imitation of an ancient castle wall, an adobe hut, and much more. If you settled on an option that gives the impression of rough-style brickwork, consider the overall design of the home.

MDF panels are durable, have a wide variety of textured reliefs and colors. But the price of the material is high. When installing, you will need to use a power tool, manual cutting will ruin the material.

Cork panels are an environmentally friendly material that is not afraid of ultraviolet radiation and has high heat and sound insulation characteristics. The method is not cheap, but since doing a balcony with your own hands (photos of various cork options can be evaluated on building portals) is not difficult, it will not cost you too much.
