Each winner of the “six hundreds” seeks to give its summer cottage a neat and ennobled look. And the paths are far from the last place in the improvement. Paving slabs or paving stones are well suited for arranging garden paths. Everyone can lay paving stones, this task does not require the use of any mechanisms and special building knowledge.
To get started, choose a tile. There are many different types of tiles and paving stones on the market, everyone can choose what he likes. By the way, to make the paving stone garden path neat, buy a curb. You will also need cement, sand, gravel or sand and gravel.
In order for the path to serve you for many years, it is necessary to follow the technology of laying paving stones. First, we remove the soil to the width of the track plus curbs and to a depth of 15 cm. To install the curb, trenches are dug, depending on the size of the curb. The curb is installed on a sand or sand and gravel cushion using a mortar M100.
After installing the curb, we lay the base of the garden path of sand or sand-gravel mixture. The base is leveled, spilled with water, compacted and left to dry for 4 hours.
While the base dries, prepare the sand-cement mixture. To do this, we take sand and cement not lower than M400 in a ratio of 7: 1. Pour sand into a suitable container (trough), then cement, and mix thoroughly. After the base has dried, the finished sand-cement mixture is distributed in an even layer 3-4 cm thick over the base and leveled.
Now you can proceed directly to laying paving stones. A rubber mallet is used to level the paving stones. When laying it is necessary to ensure that the paving stones fit snugly to the base. Between the individual tiles it is necessary to leave a gap of 3-5 mm.
After laying the paving stones, we sprinkle the seams with a sand-cement mixture, remove excess mixture from the surface and spill the path with a hose with a diffuser.
