During the reporting period last month, the State Mortgage Institution refinanced 20 mortgage loans that were provided to Ukrainian citizens for the purchase of residential real estate.
The information was officially announced by Igor Lysov, the head of the board of the SMI. Since the beginning of last month, to support the Ukrainian mortgage market, the institution has sent financial resources in the amount of 7.3 million hryvnia. In fact, this provided an opportunity to use mortgage financing for about 20 domestic families who need affordable residential real estate.
If we take into account the difficult conditions that have developed in the country: low liquidity of banking institutions, instability of the national currency, then the resource that was used by the State Mortgage Institution continues to be a fairly significant factor through which all possible support is provided to maintain bank mortgage lending programs. Citizens themselves are extremely positive about government assistance.
The realities of the modern market are such that banking institutions are extremely reluctant to lend to the population, due to the difficulties in the country’s economy. They are extremely reluctant to use their own financial resources. And the role of the State Mortgage Institution at this stage is extremely weighty and significant.
In the period of this and next years, it is planned to put into operation about 19 apartment buildings, the total living area of which will be more than 350 thousand hryvnias. Now the mortgage institution is intensifying its own work in several areas of lending and providing the Ukrainian population with affordable housing.
