Alpine hotel will be built and put into operation in the summer of 2013 on Mount Elbrus. The height at which the construction site is located is 4000 meters. The construction is being carried out by the North Caucasus Development Corporation Open Joint Stock Company, headed by Anton Pak.
This joint-stock company was established by Vnesheconombank with the aim of developing the investment sector in the North Caucasus. The mission of the Corporation is a successful investment business and stimulation of the economic development of this federal district.
The hotel for 48 people will allow climbers to stay and acclimatize before climbing to the top of the mountain.
Once in Soviet Russia there was already a similar high-altitude “Shelter of Eleven”, located at a 41,000-meter height. But due to the violation of fire safety rules by foreign tourists, it burned down in 1998.
The construction of a hotel on Elbrus is included in the project called “North Caucasian Mountain Club”. Also, this project will create a single material and technical base for organizing travel, typical routes in different regions and an Internet portal.
The construction of the hotel will take 200 million. rub., and for the creation of the infrastructure of the material and technical base, another 1 billion. rub.
